The Photography Department is staffed by professional photographers experienced in both digital and conventional photographic methods. We utilize advanced photographic equipment, computers, digital cameras and slide, negative and flatbed scanners to provide high-quality output.
Our professional staff provides HD single-camera videography coverage of events, conferences,
interviews, training/safety videos and medical/surgical procedures. We feature turnkey production,
including editing (audio mixing and titles included) and upload for DVD, web or other digital platforms.
We can also transfer your old VHS tapes to DVDs.
Obtaining high quality professional looking prints from your digital camera could not be easier. We can make corrections to your digital prints that include adjusting colors, cropping, framing, removing red-eye, rotating and much more.
Our printer capabilities include:
- Production of prints up to 44" wide.
- Vibrant, accurate color and sharp, photographic details.
- Ultrachrome ink (rated up to 100 years under glass).
- Large variety of print surfaces: glossy, semi-gloss, luster, matte, canvas and vinyl.
The Portrait Studio in room #B050 enables us to provide professional portraits for use as part of a news release, grant application, invitation to serve as a guest lecturer, or web photo. Our Photography Department offers any of these styles of portraiture in either black & white or color.
We specialize in high-resolution, large format digital scanning and creating large files delivered to you electronically so you can store them and use them for quality reproduction anytime you wish.
We record School or departmental events, award ceremonies, groups of faculty, staff, residents, and students, special lectures, procedures, or findings, in your environment with professional imaging equipment and lighting. Photographers are usually available on short notice during business hours. Please notify us in advance if you need a photographer before or after regular business hours or on weekends.
We also provide digital passport and application photos.
Our photographers utilize the most current computer software to take old, stained, or torn photos and bring them back to life! We can help you to compose, label or retouch your photographic images for publication. We can also make a single composite photo from two or more images.
Medical and Surgical Photography
We take surgical, clinical, specimen and gel plate images and process digital files of x-rays, micrography and macrophotography images for teaching and publication.
Our photographers are available to work along-side a surgeon, taking the sequence of an operation from the first incision to the final stitch. We offer image enhancement to properly format and present your files for publication and for grants.
Black and White Colorization
We offer comprehensive colorization services to colorize black & white, sepia, or IR (infrared) photos. This process ensures consistent, as well as optimal selection of hue, brightness, saturation, opacity, etc. for colorizing any object/region of the image.
