Visit a Librarian
Are you having trouble deciding which database to search or having trouble searching your chosen database? Are you trying to find out if a book or journal is available at the library? Reference & Education Services Librarians are available in the library on a walk-up basis from 8:30am - 5:00pm, Monday - Friday (except holidays).



 


Call a Librarian
Do you have a quick question? Are you unsure how much help you may need? Call a Librarian at (305) 243-6648 from 8:30am - 5:00pm, Monday - Friday (except holidays) and get some quick help over the telephone.



 


Request a Search
Do you need the library to search a biomedical database for you? The library can do a bibliographic search and email the results to you. This service requires a fee for non-UM/JMH affiliates!

Research Consultation
Are you planning to do research? The Reference & Education Services Librarians can setup a scheduled time to meet with you and discuss the selection of databases, resources available to you. They can help you find the best search strategies to use within those resources, and describe citation manage options (EndNote, Refworks or Mendeley). Call a Librarian at (305) 243-6648 from 8:30 - 5:00pm Monday - Friday (except holidays) to request a personalized Research Consultation.





Individual Training
Has it been a while since you tried searching the PubMed or CINAHL databases? If a year or more has passed since you spoke with a Librarian to find out what is new with these resources, you might want to brush up your personal searching skills. Fill out the Training Registration Form, or contact a librarian by phone- (305) 243-6648 or email- reference@med.miami.edu.





Group Training
If you have a group that needs specialized database training call or send us an email with your request and we will contact you to work out the details for a specialized training session for your group. The training can be held at the library's classroom (max. 32 people) or at any campus location. For a list of training options, visit the Training Descriptions.
