DynaMed vs. UpToDate
Remote access to a clinical decision support tool is available through DynaMed. Produced by a physician for use at the point-of-care, DynaMed has clinical summaries for about 3,000 topics, which are updated daily and organized by 12 categories: General Information (including ICD-9 codes), Causes and Risks, Complications, History, Physical, Diagnosis, Prognosis, Treatment, Prevention and Screening, References, Patient Information, and Acknowledgements. The information in each category is displayed in descending order by level of evidence. Evidence summaries focus on patient-oriented outcomes and absolute risks (NNT).
