  • Stimulus Funding Information: How it Affects Research at UM
Stimulus funding is the money the federal government will be providing from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA). The ARRA is the money Congress has earmarked to help the economy grow out of recession. Included in the package is funding for research and development. The money will be dispersed through competitive grants administered by government agencies like the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the National Science Foundation (NSF). The NIH will be receiving $8.2 billion for research projects and the NSF will be receiving $2.0 billion for research grants. This website answers questions about how this federal money will affect research at the University of Miami.
