  • A web-based bibliographic citation manager used to easily create a personal database of imported references from text files or online databases, facilitating reference storage, retrieval, formatting for publication, and sharing of folders among collaborators.

Demonstrating Your Accomplishments (Calculating Your H-Index)
 
  • Web of Knowledge/Web of Science
  • Limited to ISI journals.  No books, book chapters, etc., but includes publications from 1945 forward. Offers clickable author disambiguation to assure publications by the correct author are being reported.
  • Scopus
  • Easy option to find the h-index for an author, but may under represent h-index.  Uses PubMed and NIH RePORTER for calculating h-index, but is limited to publications from 1995 forward. Offers author disambiguation for multiple spellings.
  • Google Scholar/Scholar Index
  • Must be used with Scholar Index to determine h-index.  Includes broad coverage of documents and disciplines but no information on specific resources, disciplines or dates covered.  No author disambiguation.
